I want to write this like a quick letter from the owner, because I think being honest is better than pretending everything is perfect.
So here it is. So far, we have not been able to attract many clients.
That is not me being dramatic. It is just the truth. We launched, we built the website, we put ourselves out there, and we expected at least a few steady inquiries. Instead, it has been quieter than we hoped.
At first, I kept thinking, “Maybe it just needs a little more time.” And yes, time helps. But time without adjustments is just waiting around with a nicer attitude. So we started looking at what might be happening.
Here’s what we think is going on.
First, people might not be able to find us. If someone does not know we exist, they cannot hire us. That sounds obvious, but it is the part that can sneak up on you. You can build something great and still be invisible if you do not show up where people are actually looking.
Second, even if people would like our service, they might not be searching for it yet. Some services are easy to search for because the need is urgent. If your AC breaks in Arizona, you are not browsing casually. You are typing “AC repair near me” like your comfort depends on it, because it does. Marketing is different. A lot of business owners know they want more customers, but marketing gets pushed to “later” because they are busy running the business today.
So the problem might not be that the service is unwanted. The problem might be that it is not being searched for in the moment, or it is not being described in a way that matches what people type into Google.
That is why we are considering switching to a waitlist.
I know, I know. It sounds a little backward. “You do not have a line, so you want a waitlist?” But here is the logic.
A waitlist creates a simple next step for people who are interested but not ready to commit. It lowers the pressure. Instead of asking someone to make a decision right now, we can say, “If this sounds useful, join the waitlist and we will reach out when we open the next round.”
It also helps us measure interest in a real way. If people join, we learn that our message is reaching the right audience. If people do not join, that is not a failure. That is a signal. It tells us we need to improve our messaging, our visibility, or the offer itself.
We are also thinking about getting promo products so we can do some local outreach and put our name in front of real people in the real world. Online marketing matters, but sometimes a simple physical reminder is what makes someone actually look you up later.
If you have been watching our journey from the sidelines, thank you. If you have shared our name with someone, thank you. And if you are a business owner who thinks you might want help with marketing, keep an eye out for the waitlist.
We are not giving up. We are just getting smarter about how we build momentum.
